Wet Leg shares new singles and announces new tour dates

It seems like everyone’s favorite band these days is Wet Leg. And with good reason.

The latest news from the British-born indie rock band is the release of the band’s new Spotify singles and new tour dates. The new singles include a cover of Ashnikko’s “Daisy” and a revamp of the band’s own song “Convincing.”

Wet Leg also announced four upcoming headlining dates in New York in December. They are also confirmed to be supporting Harry Styles on his upcoming UK and European tour in 2023.

Fifteen months ago, Wet Leg, made up of duo Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, released their debut single “Chaise Lounge” and since then they’ve shot to fame, racking up 140 million streams and selling over 250,000 albums.

“I remember going to stay with Rhian when we recorded Chair with Jon McMullen and she told me about this artist that she listened to a lot,” Chambers says of the Ashnikko cover. “She sang and played ‘Daisy’ on guitar in the morning while we had coffee. It’s like another little circle forming in our Wet Leg world to do this cover.

“Most of our album was written deep into 2020, and up until April 2021 when we hit the studio,” Chambers adds of the “Convincing” rework. “Since live music reopened, we’ve been playing some tracks as they were recorded, but ‘Convincing’ is one of the songs that’s had a little change in shape over time as we’ve been playing gigs l This version we recorded with James leans into the softer, woozy world that exists in our live sets.

As for the December headlining dates in New York, the band will play Webster Hall, Bowery Ballroom, Elsewhere and Music Hall in Williamsburg. Check out their full gig list below.
