Toronto Brewery Hosts First Dog-Friendly Singles Event in September

For dog owners, finding “the right one” isn’t always that easy – after all, you and your puppy are a bundle. If they don’t find your furry baby as precious and adorable as you, it could be a breakup. If these misfortunes sound familiar to you, there is an upcoming event that is just right for you. This month, Black Lab Brewery will host its first ever dog-friendly singles social event, and more than 120 people and their dogs are expected.

The event is organized by Ontario dogs, an Ontario-based dog owner social media community with over 12,000 members. Founder Francesca McFadden told Curiocity that by chatting with various dog owners, she learned that many of them were interested in more opportunities to connect in person.

McFadden says it will be the first of many similar events to come this fall and beyond. The event is open to owners of dogs aged 22 and over who want to connect without the pressure of a first date and with the comfort of their dog by their side. “If the conversation gets awkward, you can lean on your dog,” says McFadden.

The event will take place in the brewery and beer garden on Thursday 23 September. Your ticket comes with a free craft beer or refreshment, and a bag of goodies for your puppy, which is more than welcome to accompany as long as he’s friendly to people and other dogs.

Ideally, this will be the start of your love affair with your lifelong companion. And if not, at least your puppy was able to meet some new friends.

Where: 818, avenue de l’Est
When: Thursday September 23 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
