Thuy covers Tamia’s “So Into You” for Spotify Singles

Thuy shared a pair of Spotify Singles for Asia and Pacific Islands Month. The first, released with support from Gold House, is a reimagined version of Tamia’s classic “So Into You.”

Addicted to 90s and 2000s R&B, Thuy called it “obvious” to put a new spin on the song she admired some time ago.

“It’s a song I’ve been singing since I was a teenager, and it made me feel like I was in love even though I had never been in a relationship before,” Thuy said in a statement. “Being able to record it in Spotify’s beautiful studio with my close friends and the Spotify team was such a dream come true!

Along with this release, Thuy unveiled a new version of “Universe”, taken from his 2021 debut EP, I hope you will see this.

Exclusive to Spotify, the two shared songs follow P-Lo’s song “Inhibitions.” The bouncy tune, released in March, came just after she released the whimsical visual for her song, “You understood.”

Thuy has had a busy month educating, celebrating and representing Asian Americans in various spaces.

Apart from Spotify Singles, Thuy has appeared on Spotify Microphone check and The truth. On May 28, she close out the month with a performance at Amazon Music’s #OURIDENTITY festival. It will be available to stream here.

In August, Thuy is part of the Outside Lands Festival lineup at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Tickets are available now.
