To identify the biggest hits of 2021 to date, 24/7 Tempo reviewed the tracks that peaked at No.1 at least once this year on Billboard’s Hot 100 Ranking, as of September 25, 2021. The 23 songs on this list are ranked by number of weeks at # 1. The total number of weeks for each song on the Hot 100 is also included.
Some of the more recent artists to top the charts include groundbreaking singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo and Korean pop group BTS. Rodrigo secured first place for two singles – “good 4 u” and “Driver’s License” – both acclaimed for their evocative melodies and powerful vocals.
BTS was formed in 2010, but did not release their first song entirely in English, “Dynamite”, until 2021. This was followed by two more songs in English, all of which reached number 1. (See the artists with the most hits n ° 1.)

The Weeknd broke records for their song “Blinding Lights”, which remained impressive in the Billboard Top 10 for 90 consecutive weeks. Mariah Carey broke a different record when her holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas” topped the charts for the fourth year in a row, although it was originally released in 1994.
