Camila Cabello’s third studio album has arrived – Friday, April 8, the singer’s latest album “Bam Bam”, Familywas released at midnight and offers fans some of his most introspective and personal work to date.
The disc contains a total of 12 songs, including the singles “Don’t Go Yet” and “Bam Bam” with Ed Sheeran, and three new collaborations: Cabello receives an assist from Willow on “Psychofreak” which highlights his separation from Fifth Harmony, while Yotuel and Maria Becerra lend their talents to tracks “Lola” and “Hasta Los Dientes” respectively.
Cabello has already said Billboard that Family is a celebration of his friends and loved ones. “This album to me means community, I guess the opposite of yourself. It’s more you with other people sharing this joy and success, whatever that means. Interdependence realizing how much everyone is important in your life. A lot of it is inspired by my relationships: my relationship with my family, my relationship with my friends, my relationship with my [then] partner… it is about connections with other people, therefore, Family.”
Family serves following the release of Cabello in 2019, Romance. The sophomore effort peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, spent a total of 41 weeks on the chart, and spawned a total of four singles on the Billboard Hot 100 – of the four songs, “My Oh My” with DaBaby charted the highest and peaked at No. 12. In comparison, FamilyCurrent singles “Bam Bam” and “Don’t Go Yet” ranked at numbers 23 and 42 on the all genre count.
