Sofi Tukker Celebrates Year of Free Daily Live Streams with Extended Live Concert

New York house duo Sofi Tukker has been broadcasting live DJ sets every day since the quarantine restrictions went into effect on March 12, 2020. This Friday they will perform an extended live set to celebrate the first anniversary. The 90-minute set will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT, the same time Sofi Tukker played her sets every day last year.

The stream will take place on their Twitch channel. After the performance, viewers will be directed to (aka ‘rading’) Sophie Hawley-Weld’s Fridays at the Women’s House together. Femme House is an organization that aims to promote feminine and marginalized gender expressions, especially in the house music genre.

Sofi Tukker has put together a huge following livestream throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, landing in Poll starTop 5 most watched live music broadcasts of 2020. The only artist ahead of them was Norah Jones. The duo’s following called themselves “Freak Fam”, a large community that Sofi Tukker was able to connect with in a way only the internet can.

They announced that some artists will be joining them for unique dates and residencies throughout March, including Icona Pop, UNIIQU3, HANA, QRTR, Rocket Pengwin, Dipha Barus, Mahmut Orhan and Callie Reiff. Icona Pop, who joins them for their March 24 set, collaborated with them for their recent single “Spa. ”

Since the start of the live broadcasts, they have also released “House arrest“with Gorgon City,”Emergency“With Novak & YAX.X and”Autoöl von Holz”, A redesign of“ Carol of the Bells ”produced in collaboration with DJ Holzbläser. They also performed an unreleased track titled “Larry Bird“on one of their daily live streams.

On March 19th they will release a remix of Kaela’s song “Spiral. “Kaela has been M83’s keyboardist / singer since 2016. Sofi Tukker’s remix of her song would bring”an immediacy to the original dream, ”according to the press release.
