“It Still Doesn’t Feel Real”

K-pop boy group CRAVITY has revealed their thoughts and creative process behind their recently released studio album, “The Awakening: Written In The Stars.”

During the online showcase held in light of the album’s release yesterday (August 19), the nine-member group shared their feelings towards their first full album.

Seong-min pointed out that they were “pretty nervous” because “The Awakening” was their first release since CRAVITY concluded their previous extended play series “Hideout.” “We’ve worked really hard to show a fuller performance, and it still doesn’t feel real. [that the album is out]“, said the singer, according to Soompiit’s translations.

Members Allen and Se-rim were also credited for the lyrics to the album’s lead single, “Gas Pedal”, which Allen shared, “It was the first time Se-rim and I had participated in the lyrics of ‘a title track.” “The words compare the growth of CRAVITY to the acceleration you get from stepping on the accelerator,” he explained.

“Releasing a full album was one of my bucket list items as a singer and as an idol,” singer Won-jin divulged, before adding that the group had been working “still harder than before” on “The Awakening: Written In “The Stars”.

In a three-star review of the album, NME Ruby C wrote that the band “should embrace their teenage ideals while they still can and ensure they are channeled in their music”.

“After all, that’s what shines brightest about ‘The Awakening: Written In The Stars’. I hope it will be something they will remember that even as they grow up they should continue to stay true to who they are while enjoying their moment,” she wrote. “And right now, it’s savoring all that their youth has to offer.”
