Former Castleford Tigers star Jacques O’Neill has snubbed a move which would have seen him reunite with his former Love Island partner.
Stardom now awaits O’Neill – who ditched rugby league team Castleford Tigers for the glitz and glamor of the Love Island villa two months ago – with more than a million Instagram followers guaranteeing that any promotional post will hit the £10,000 mark.
The 23-year-old has also signed up with The Social PR – the UK’s fastest growing public relations firm – to be mentored by former Islander Scott Thomas which could see him become a millionaire.
Such a popular character will still receive offers to appear on other reality shows, but O’Neill had previously turned down the £60,000 offer to go on Celebs Go Dating, according to the Daily Mail.
Love Island fans were treated to a special extended live edition to catch up on life after the villa and what it was like to be with their partner outside the Mallorca base with the drama after the final live tackled.
But, O’Neill skipped the Love Island Reunion after revealing he doesn’t want to see former flame Paige and new partner Adam Collard just yet.
“Everyone is getting together for a big party tonight in London. ITV has put everyone in a hotel so no one needs to miss anything,” a source said. The sun before the weekend.
“Unfortunately, Jacques has decided that he is not ready to see Paige yet and especially not with Adam.
“He made the decision to wait for a more appropriate time to speak to her again after everything he’s been through.”
It remains to be seen where O’Neill’s future lies in rugby league – will he return? He obviously has the opportunity to do so at former club Castleford as well as a number of other top-flight and Championship sides, but would he?
The chances of succeeding in the public eye are certainly greater and more lucrative than a rugby league career, but stranger things have happened.
