Ed Sheeran retains UK top spot in singles for week six


Ed Sheeran’s bad habits cannot be curtailed as the track wins a sixth week at No.1 on the official singles rankings.

The dance-pop single claimed 82,000 chart sales this week, including 9.4 million streams, to finish comfortably ahead of The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber’s Stay, which is returning to its previous high of number 2.

Jonasu’s Black Magic dance floor climbs two places to a new high at number 3, while Heartbreak Anthem of Galantis, David Guetta and Little Mix bounces two at number 5.

Billie Eilish marks the new highest entry of the week with Happier Than Ever, the title track from her second studio album, at number 6. The entry earns Billie her eighth Top 10 single and her second this year.
Billie claims two more new Top 40 entries with tracks from the album: Getting Older at 28 and Oxytocin at number 32 – bringing her UK Top 40 singles total to 15.

Becky Hill and David Guetta climb three places to number 7 with Remember, and lower, Doja Cat’s Need To Know climbs seven places to number 22, You For Me of Sigala & Rita Ora climbs four places to number 29, and Mabel’s Let Them Know climbs nine spots to a new high at number 31 after her performance on Love Island earlier this week.

20-year-old producer and singer Pinkpantheress first makes the Top 40 with Pain, which drops from 18 spots to 35, and Skepta debuts at 38 with Nirvana ft. J Balvin, his 20th Top 40 single and J Balvin’s fourth.

Finally, 2055 by Jamaican-American rapper Sleepy Hallow climbs 16 places to number 39, his very first single in the British Top 40.
